  7. funny thing that sometimes you guys insert the exclamations in the vocal range as a part of it and sometimes you don't. by the way, beyoncé's vocal range is wider than it's shown on her profile in here — as far as i know, she hits an E6 by the end of "dance for you". C6 as her highest note? come on.

  8. I think it depends on the sustain and quality of the exclamation -- DD tends to include them if it is clear the pitches can be sustained longer than a second. But yes, some of these artists have wider ranges than the profiles indicate because they have released more material after the profile was created or new live performances and other non-album appearances have surfaced, thereby expanding their sung ranges. AFAIK, Beyonce's highest note was either E6 ("Happy Face") or an F6 in a live performance of some song I am forgetting.

  9. Not really, her vocal breaks are very mezzo-soprano but her vocal weight can lead you to thinking she is a soprano.

  10. Yes, I am tending to think a lyric mezzo-soprano or a soprano/mezzo intermediate of some kind. She also seems to have a bit of a rasp in chest voice.

  11. I agree she is a Mezzo, Never been fond of her voice, as its kinda thin and raspy but she good at substainning notes for long periods

  13. Her vocal range spans about 4 octaves.
B2-C7 Although the C7 is an exclamation.

  14. Michelle really is an underrated vocalist. Just a shame a tone lets her down (imo), especially compared to Bey and Kelly.

  15. Michelle is actually a rare type of soprano which sits in between mezzo and light-lyric soprano - Dugazon Soprano. Which explains why she has such a light, bright girlish tone and timbre yet has such a good lower extension - I am JonathanGardnerTV AND Slaychelle on YouTube BTW ;)

  16. Actually she hits a Bb2 in the Unexpected Intro and did a glissando up to a sustained F7 in 2001 interview on the Ananda Lewis Show with Destiny's Child http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bD2MkfvAMwI

  17. She is a RARE voice type called Dugazon Soprano. She has the brightness and weight of a Light Lyric Soprano but the tessitura of a Mezzo-Soprano. Google Dugazon Soprano for more details but here is a recent performance by Michelle in which she SLAYS in her upper chest register

  18. Since she is a soprano dugazon and this profile is very skinny, email DD an updated version but a here's a word of advice. Try to keep it as objective as possible. I used to struggle with my objectivity and it seems you are quite the fan of Michelle Williams so for fairness sakes, objectivity is important.

  19. For me it comes down more to intonation and note choices but I agree she has a LOT more potential than people give her credit for.

  20. Thanks, I've VERY objective when it comes to classifying vocalists.

  21. Thats good. LOL, I wasn't always. In fact, I haven't made a profile since Haley Reinhart because of my lack of objectivity. I'm making a profile for Miguel as a request but I'm not really in a rush to get it finished.

  23. There are other theories that Michelle Williams' voice is an intermediate type between Soprano and Mezzo-soprano called a Dungazon. which is a Darker colored Soubrette. a Soubrette is a type of Soprano voice but not really considered a real full soprano but close enough. her voice lacks weight, power and stamina. but a sweeter milder tone pleasant to the ear makes up for it

  24. This profile def needs an update.

  25. She's more of a Lyric Soprano.
